Welcome to Drawinglics
Drawinglics is a practical resource for anyone learning to draw, sketch, or explore digital art. We started in 2026 because we were tired of art tutorials that promised talent but delivered generic advice. We wanted something honest: real tests, real mistakes, and real progress.
What We Actually Do
We test drawing tablets, software, and techniques before we write about them. A tablet stays on our desk for at least two weeks before it gets a review. A technique gets practiced for a month before it becomes a tutorial. We do not copy press releases or rewrite manufacturer specs. We use the tools, we hit the problems, and we document what happens.
Our guides cover:
- Drawing fundamentals — lines, shapes, shading, and perspective for people who start from zero
- Digital tools — honest reviews of tablets, iPads, styluses, and software like Procreate, Photoshop, and Krita
- Career paths — how to price work, build a portfolio, and sell art without pretending it is easy
- Daily practice — exercises that fit into 15-20 minutes, because consistency beats marathon sessions
Who Writes This
The content is created by Marcus A. Hale, a self-taught digital illustrator based in Brazil. He has been drawing digitally since 2019, mostly inconsistently, mostly learning from YouTube and expensive mistakes. He is not a university professor, he does not have a PhD, and he will not sell you a course. He will tell you which $50 tablet is actually usable, why your shading looks flat, and how to stop overthinking your first sketch.
